As the next couple of days are very stormy, we are staying in Marstal on the island Ærø at the moment, enjoying the cute town and waiting for good sailing conditions.
We had read about a project where three local women had bought an old motor factory that had gone bankrupt and turned it into a concert hall and FabLab space. It sounded pretty cool so today we went there to check it out! One part of the building exhibits a lot of the motors that were build in the factory back in the days and the machines they used to do this. Here we met some nice volunteers that were maintaining the old motors and machines – several of them had actually worked in the factory back in the days. They even turned on one of the motors just for us, it was really cool! After spending a lot of time on understanding and fixing our own motor, it was really interesting to see all of these more old school boat motors.
Tomorrow we will visit the Seafarer museum here in town, and Thursday we will probably set sails again.
