Tonight marks the end of week 7 of the boat refit, but more importantly tonight also marks the first night living aboard Désirée! Claus just drove us to the marina with the last couple of things that we still had at his and Ann-Dorthe’s place, so now we can finally call Désirée our home for the next months to come.
It’s a beautiful spring evening here and we can’t wait to set sails very soon and go explore 🙂
When we first tried to plan this project and refit, we thought 4 weeks would be great to get the boat in tip top shape for a long sailing trip. 7 weeks later we realise that this might have been a little too optimistic. But we are nonetheless super proud of the hard work that we have behind us and the nice results that we can now enjoy everyday onboard the boat.
We’ve tried not to pack too much stuff for this trip, but we had to bring our favourite travel plant – meet Pelea. She’s already followed us many places. She was planted in in Copenhagen, then lived in Germany for a while in Dresden, Darmstadt and even visited Cologne. Last year she moved to the Netherlands with us, and now we thought the only appropriate thing to do would be to bring her onboard of Désirée. We will keep you posted on her progress 🙂
All the best and god vind!
Paul and Liv
